The Omaha DJ Academy will be the Heartland’s only DJ school. At ODA, students of all ages will be able to learn how to DJ, from the basics to the most professional techniques. Some of the topics covered will be mixing, scratching, blending, learning the equipment, PA systems, lighting, and how to be a good MC. We will go over the advantages and disadvantages of computer DJing, turntable DJing, and CD player DJing. Students will get to shadow professional DJs on the job, create mixtape and mashup projects to present to their friends and family, and get real hands-on experience using the tools of the trade. Future courses may include music production, recording techniques, and video DJing.
